Contrails form a reverse upper case E.
Back on Thursday.
Brilliantly lit contrails cross cross the morning sky while the land waits for the suns’ caress.
Not a political reference. It is a reference to how, from bottom to top, the bush, low grey stratocumulus and higher cirrus clouds, contrail, and hydro line added interest to to this lovely afternoon view and my attempt to capture it.
The stratosphere was so stable this morning that a contrail didn’t quickly evaporate or become torn apart. It lingered for several minutes, artistically bending and twisting. Another jet streaked past, its arrow-straight contrail emphasizing the effect.
A jet unwinds a pink ribbon across the morning sky.
I deliberated this morning over whether to bring the PlayBook or the Fuji camera. Turns out it’s good I opted for the former.
I saw this contrail far to the southeast of where I stood this morning and zoomed in on it. If you look closely at the contrail you can see colours refracting out. Further, the tendrils below are (I think) heavier ice crystals precipitating out. A very pretty and different view of a very common sight in North American skies.
