Errand

Errand

While Achilles lays quietly, Stella trots by on an important errand. Namely, coming to the deck and bumping her head up under my hand.

Partners

Achilles and Stella have been partners for eight years since I adopted him from the shelter. Treasured companions.

Achilles and Kendal

Achilles and Kendal

Such different temperaments, different personalities. Achilles is (adn I’m anthropomorphizing) deferential, gentle, graceful. Kendal by contrast is bluff, assertive, physical, clumsy. Both are deeply valued, deeply loved companions.

Observant Achilles Two

In fact, Achilles was so interested in the crows that he sidled up to the gate for a closer look.

I do not know what drew his interest so. What goes on in a dogs’ mind is often, frequently, a mystery to us. Humans pretend to always know what Fido thinks and feels yet we do not, we cannot.

Watching

It’s a rough life, being one of our dogs.ImageImage

The Three Cavaliers

The Three Cavaliers

From left to right, Stella, Kendal, and Achilles. Stella and Achilles are Australian Cattle dog mixes and Kendal is (perhaps obviously) a chocolate Labrador Retriever.
