Achilles’ post-dental work report

Achilles had his two week check-up the other day, after several dental extractions on October 7. The vet is very pleased with his recovery and said that the extrachtions have healed quite well. He gave the go-ahead to slowly resume feeding kibble beginning today, two weeks post-surgery. Lamentably, more teeth need to be extracted. They can wait though; there is no hurry.

For now, we give thanks for the good boy’s fine recovery.

I don’t mind

I don’t mind that a leaf is stuck to my tongue, do you?

Achilles, I don’t mind at all.

Glowing Bentleys requested

Achilles (who we guess is 12 years old) will have several teeth extracted on Friday October 7. While he’s in otherwise good condition there is always a small risk of complications when a senior dog undergoes surgery.

Bentley‘ refers to the forehead blaze that all cattle dogs and most cattle dog crosses have. ‘Glowing Bentley’ is a phrase many ACD owners use to ask for, or to send, good thoughts. So while I expect no problems, I ask you to send glowing Bentley thoughts next Friday.

Roll, then shake

A roll in the grass feels good no matter your age.

As does a vigorous shake when you’re done.
