OMG! I was scrolling by and saw this and thought it was MY kitchen!!! We’re right in the middle of this, but I’m not putting the doors back on the top (will leave them open) and I’m putting bead and board on the back wall in the cupboards because it’s really just drywall back there and nasty. My kitchen was built in 1976 and everything is plywood. I’m replacing the bottoms with new, unfinished cupboards and drawers from Home Depot. They are oak, solid, and very cheap. I’m going to paint them red. Maybe. The only real money I’m going to spend is on the countertop and kitchen sink. I’m going to follow your blog and see how things turn out. When I finish mine, I’ll send you a pic. Good luck to us both!!
