Last snow.

Our last snowfall was two weeks ago. A wet, heavy, very photogenic snowfall that melted within a few hours. Preserved only in photos and, most wonderfully, in my memory.

Rides high.

A fingernail moon rides high in the early morning sky.

Christmas-y.

A recent snowfall started out with small flakes. After a time these large flakes began falling, which gave me a very Christmas-y feeling.

Sliver

Water ponded in a field reflects only a tiny sliver of a gorgeous late winter dawn.

Hoarfrost.

We had a lovely, calm, clear night and morning which resulted in hoarfrost forming in this twig.

Reflects.

A distant house reflects early morning light as the full moon still shines high in the sky.

Promise fulfilled.

Before today, only four days this month had been mostly sunny. This mornings’ lovely dawn promised that today would be Day 5.

The promise was fulfilled. I was, am, very grateful.

Tangles.

Tangles of twigs, set against a striking sunset.

A profusion of purple.

Late summer blooms.

Sunrise.

Sunrise, on a late summer day by the calendar. Sunrise, on an early autumn day by how it feels.
