Virga

An interesting weather phenomenon occurred. This cumulus had enough convection to create precipitation; however the precipitation appeared to evaporate before reaching the ground, a condition known as virga. I suspect that a brief sprinkle occurred at ground level, if that.

Focusing.

Focusing on the foreground, at the bottom of the image, added an interesting perspective to the buildings in the mid-range of this image of the full moon just before sunrise.

Sunrise.

I was compelled to capture this image of a marvellous late winter sunrise.

Sliver

Water ponded in a field reflects only a tiny sliver of a gorgeous late winter dawn.

Adds a dash.

A splash of pale pink adds a dash of colour to an otherwise grey and white early morning landscape.

Flat land.

I live in a very flat part of the world. Elevation changes could be measured in centimeters or inches. This cluster of silos is over four kilometers from where I was. Although it was a little hazy, it was easy to see some details.

Promise fulfilled.

Before today, only four days this month had been mostly sunny. This mornings’ lovely dawn promised that today would be Day 5.

The promise was fulfilled. I was, am, very grateful.

Shower.

This looks grainy, or out of focus. The focus is on the snowflakes in the foreground; a snow shower was ongoing and caught against a bright background.
