July 2007. Day 1 of our journey into our next adventure, our new life in Canada.

I tested a new memory card by photographing Achilles. Fuzzy photo, fuzzy dog.
Smiling dog.
Good dog.

We bid adieu to February by trying to create a family portrait on a blustery day. We were less than 100 percent successful.
Back on Thursday. And again, thank you for visiting.

We spent a good amount of time outside last weekend; temperatures were at or above all-time February highs. We moved out to a corner of the yard to catch the last bit of late afternoon sun, and brought the dog bed out.
When we decided to go inside, Achilles was not ready to leave his spot.

Fitzi invited Achilles to play and Achilles accepted the invitation. By the time I got the iPad booted and camera app started they were winding down; they still danced so quickly that I only captured two blurs.

Amid the detritus revealed by melting snow, noble Achilles enjoys a recent mild afternoon.

When Achilles sleeps, even his tongue relaxes.

We recently had a short yet most delightful sojurn at a treehouse. After settling in, Faye and I strolled down a nearby country road. We returned to discover that Achilles and Stella provided much help during our absence. They ensured that the sleeping platform did not float away.

Achilles had his two week check-up the other day, after several dental extractions on October 7. The vet is very pleased with his recovery and said that the extrachtions have healed quite well. He gave the go-ahead to slowly resume feeding kibble beginning today, two weeks post-surgery. Lamentably, more teeth need to be extracted. They can wait though; there is no hurry.
For now, we give thanks for the good boy’s fine recovery.

I don’t mind that a leaf is stuck to my tongue, do you?
Achilles, I don’t mind at all.
