On alert.

Lucy, on alert. A squirrel, chipmunk, bird, toad may need to be chased.

Loved.

I have always loved Lucy’s floppy ears, and am so grateful that they were not cropped by one of her previous owners.

Something caught her eye.

I saw nothing out of the ordinary. But then, I am not a dog so I obviously missed it whatever it was.

Tuckered out.

We spent much of a recent very pleasant spring day outside tending to things that needed tending to. Lucy and Fitzi did the same, and all the activity left Lucy quite tuckered out.

A tired dog is a good dog.

Ball girl.

It’s good.

It’s good to share couch time with a good dog.

Keeps a close watch.

On weekend mornings we begin the day by sitting in bed, drinking a French press of coffee, surfing or reading. Fitzi and Lucy are welcome to join us.

Lucy usually keeps a close watch out the window for squirrels that may be bold enough to (in her opinion) trespass.

And after all these years I still love her floppy ears.

Life is good.

Profile.

Our weekend morning ritual is coffee and reading in bed; we invite Fitzi and Lucy up to share some quiet together time.

Lucy often watches out the window on these mornings. I caught her in profile.

Place holder.

Lucy dozed off on the couch once the game ended. We had been going through seed catalogs; she held our place when we got up to tend to things.
