Sliver

Water ponded in a field reflects only a tiny sliver of a gorgeous late winter dawn.

Adds a dash.

A splash of pale pink adds a dash of colour to an otherwise grey and white early morning landscape.

Reflects.

A distant house reflects early morning light as the full moon still shines high in the sky.

Promise fulfilled.

Before today, only four days this month had been mostly sunny. This mornings’ lovely dawn promised that today would be Day 5.

The promise was fulfilled. I was, am, very grateful.

Foggy morning.

The drive to work on a recent morning was fine. It became extraordinarily foggy after I arrived. This view looking across the road barely revealed the phragmites about 60 meters away.

Welcome.

It was a pleasure to welcome a new day.

It is good to be alive.

Dull.

Wreathed by a thin sheet of cloud and haze, this morning the sun presented a dull yellow face.

Sunrise.

Sunrise, on a late summer day by the calendar. Sunrise, on an early autumn day by how it feels.

Before.

The sun is muted by far-off clouds before it bursts into the wide and otherwise cloudless sky.

Bursts

The sun bursts above the horizon on a mild February morning. A lovely way to start the day!
