Snow blower

That is what the wind is today. A snow shower turned the day as gloomy and bleak as this photo suggests, visibility dropped to around 150 meters. And yet I am safe, inside, now I see blue sky, watery sun.

Texas snow

I’ve been sorting photos and came aross this one taken in February 2004 just up the street from where I lived in Austin TX. Yes, Austin can have a measurable snowfall. Going through old photos is good, they bring back memories that at times are almost lost.

Snug

About 16 cm or a little over 6 in of snow has fallen since late Friday night. I can see a significant lightening in the cloud deck. An average snow event. We are snug inside, as are our house plants.

Snow

About one inch fell overnight with a few more inches in the way throughout the day. An average winter snow event.

First snow

Taken with the PlayBook

Our first measurable snowfall started yesterday afternoon and has added up to perhaps 1 centimeter so far. we are just on the edge of a snow squall so we will probably get a little more – or perhaps a lot. The drive to work will be interesting.

A Reminder

A Reminder

I thought it might be good to remember on this warm summer evening that winter always comes, and that I’m kind of looking forward to it.
