Multiplied

From the few examples planted in a flower front bed a few years ago, the Purple Coneflowers have needed no care at all and multiplied in a way very pleasing to us, and to pollinators both resident and passing through. There’s a honeybee on a flower in the lower right quadrant.

    1. Thank you for commenting! We planted some about seven years ago and let them go to seed every year, so they spread on their own. The same bed hosts Gaillardia, ferns, lamb’s ears, columbine, cilantro, and other things I can’t think of offhand. We are happy to provide needed habitat and food for pollinators. Less yard to mow is a bonus.
