First.

Today was the first day I have seen an Evening Grosbeak. In addition to these two at one of my sunflower feeders and a House Finch that tried to move in, nine more Grosbeaks foraged elsewhere.

Flits.

A chickadee flits away from the feeder.

Welcome.

Although I live in chickadee country, I have not seen chickadees at my feeders for eight or nine years. This is one of two that have started visiting in the last three weeks. I hope they continue visiting.

Picks.

A Red-breasted Nuthatch picks a seed from a feeder.

Looks.

A House Finch looks to make sure the coast is clear before going to the feeder.

Turning leaves, turning seasons.

Picks.

A Blue Jay picks a seed from a feeder before taking it up to a branch to break open and eat.

Stick.

There are many sticks in the world. This is my stick, therefore this is the best stick in the world.

Dogs playing.

It is good to see our dogs playing.
