Shortly before sunrise a few weeks ago.

Softly lit.

On a marvellous late winter morning, this tin barn was softly lit by pre-sunrise light, with the moon setting above it. I was blessed to come across this scene.

A metal barn softly illuminated by morning light, with the full or nearly full moon setting above it.

Briefly

.The sun briefly appeared this morning between horizon and clouds.

Lucy, at rest.

Much loved Lucy.

Wondrously, marvellously.

A recent sunrise set the sky wondrously, marvellously, spectacularly, beautifully, ablaze.

In formation.

I somewhat randomly decided to take a particular route home and was fortunate to see watch several flocks of Tundra Swans flying in formation. The little-travelled road has no shoulders so I was able to safely stop in the traffic lane to capture several images.

Red sky at morning . . .

. . . sailor take warning.

The old saying certainly held true for non-sailors in southwest Ontario this week. After this lovely and marvellous Monday morning sunrise, the rest of the week was cloudy, rainy, chilly, with snow and ice melting and rivers rising.

Welcome to my first post of the new year. Let me know what you think!

Earlier.

Another view of the sunrise shown on the previous post. This one taken a few minutes earlier.

Glory.

The glory of a sunrise announces the beginning of another day. I am very glad to have broken my routine to witness it, and to share it with you.

A glorious sunrise, shared with you.

Brilliant colour.

It’s good to have a last burst of brilliant colour as we enter the seasons of muted colour.
