Tidbit.

An adult Common Grackle drops a tidbit into a fledgling’s waiting and eager mouth.

Almost escaping.

As I photographed this Common Grackle it suddenly took off, almost escaping my field of view.

I did not expect.

I did not expect to see a Common Grackle visit the suet feeder. It did a good job of balancing on it while dining.

Manages

Though the bird feeders’ perch is a little undersized for it, this male Common Grackle manages just fine.

Serenade

This gathering of Common Grackles provided quite a musical, squeaky-hinge serenade to an evening outside.

Deceiving

The Common Grackle may appear to be stern, even angry. We might think, that the bright golden eye denotes thoughts, feelings, emotions, that aren’t actually there. This is simply the ‘suit he wears’.

Appearances can be deceiving.

Prowling

Prowling

Grackles patrol our yard many times during the day, gleaning.

Curves

Curves

In the middle of the man-made straight lines and angles and curves, the tree trunks’ natural irregularities, there are this grackles’ smoothly curved bill, outline, and rounded eye/iris.
