A cheerful flower to admire on a late winter day, and to look forward to seeing this summer.

Our Gaillardia are still blooming at this late stage of the growing season. It brings a most welcome and most needed cheer at a time when most things are done blooming. Welcome cheer when Faye is in Day 35 of the tomato harvest and she, we, so look forward to it being done.

Bluebonnets (Lupinus texensis) carpet a meadow bordering Texas Highway 16 in the Texas Hill Country. Indian blanket (Gaillairdia pulchella) adds a pleasing contrast.

Indian blanket (Gaillairdia pulchella) is such a cheerful flower and always brings a smile.
