Straight and curved

Though nearly lost in the fog, the contrast between the transmission line tower and tree was so arresting that I had to stop.

Related

A willow and (if I recall correctly) a cottonwood. Distant cousins, granted, related nonetheless.

Soft

The soft curves of trees, clouds, and the almost imperceptible curvature of the land are restful to the eye.

Barn, Lambton County

I pass this barn several times a week. It’s the same barn, in the same place, yet the light is different every day. It’s a work of art.

Old wood sided barns like this one are disappearing. They are ‘inefficient’, ‘expensive’ (now) to maintain, they are diversions to farmers looking to maximize yield and minimize hassle. I suspect that when this barn becomes too much trouble as it is, it will be knocked down. Sad.

Sunburst, Lambton County

The past few mornings have been calm, dewy, foggy, misty. Yesterday morning I stopped to drink in the quiet. This scene, looking back to the early sun, struck me. A burst of white light illuminates all. The trees and clouds add welcome softness and irregularity to the scene.

Art, Naturally, Revisited

Almost the exact same spot and perspective as the previous post. What a difference three months makes.
