Heralding the arrival of a new day, the approach of autumn, and the approach of migration, a flock of Canada Geese flies across my field of view.

This sunrise adds a not entirely welcome element of warmth to the day. I accept it instead of fighting or resenting it.

Sunrise – yes, sunrise – on a summer morning when cirrus clouds, and the sun, were largely cloaked by smoke from wild fires several hundred klicks away in Manitoba and northwest Ontario.
