Kendal is 12 1/2, our elder statesman. His eyes are bright, coat healthy, appetite good, willing and ready to walk. The scare we had at the first of this year has made me much more appreciative of how blessed we are to have such a healthy boy.

Goslings are amusing to watch. Don’t get too close though, because the adults are fiercely protective of their young and will charge, hissing, necks outstretched.

This Canada goose may be resting yet it makes certain that I don’t approach too closely.
Living art
I have never looked at wheat other than through the ‘big picture’ lens,that is as a field, as the forest. Today I looked at the tree, the stalk of wheat. What a beautiful work, what art.
Dogs at play
Capturing dogs at play in a static image can be challenging. It’s hard to capture the dynamism, the posturing and gestures, the movement, their ‘speaking’ to one another. This photo doesn’t begin to show how Achilles and Stella were playing.
