Wild creatures endured, survived, a long, snowy, arduous winter. It felt good to be able to help a few of them. Now that spring is here they are bursting with energy and activity. There are nests to build, breeding partners to find and mate with, eggs to lay, hatchlings to nurture. The nyger seed feeder is visited throughout the day as the Goldfinches fuel themselves for this time.

What do you see in this photograph?

During my visit to the foggy St. Clair River the fog didn’t lift for a moment, it dropped. Treetops and antennas peeked out yet all at ground level remained shrouded.

Kendal soaks up warm sunshine.

The delicate shadings of the fur on Stella’s shoulder made an intriguing image.

The fog lay thick on the St. Clair River yesterday, at times completely obscuring the view across the river. The far side was there yet was invisible, activities which were underway inaudible. These pilings added one of the few senses of proportion and perspective to be found.

On my way to work, beauty fore and aft.

Stella lay in the yard yesterday, the warmest day of the year so far, a Winnie the Pooh windy day, about 15 degrees C.

The goldfinches are just beginning to gain their summer plumage.
