Lazing on a shady deck, enjoying the breeze.

A good way to spend a warm afternoon
Highlighted
During my recent walk in the cathedral I came upon these trilliums highlighted in a sunbeam.

Blessed
I have lost track of the exact date I adopted Achilles. It is enough to say that right about ten years ago today, I brought him home.
He helped me get through: letting go of beloved Corndog; keeping sensitive Stella busy and at work; my frequent travelling to see Faye; selling my house then moving to Canada; travelling on two long road trips. And a great deal more.
Chili dog has always been steady and reliable. Perhaps not always the best ambassador from his kind to his kind, yet always a most excellent ambassador from his kind to our kind.
I’ve been blessed to own Achilles.

Cathedral
I recently walked through a cathedral as grand and awe-inspiring as any that humans have made.

Dawn

Tangle
Our redbud tree is a tangle of pink.

Cheerful
It is a chilly, damp, breezy day – more mid-March than mid-May. These Johnny Jump-ups spread, without encouragement, into part of our yard. I photographed them a few days ago and today they gave me some cheer that spring is indeed here.

‘Weed?’
The dandelion has an undeservedly bad reputation. A great deal of propaganda has convinced many people that it is a weed and must be eradicated, which is a Sisyphean task.
Its flower is a cheerful reflection of the sun’s brilliance. The leaves are edible. I understand that a pleasant wine can be made from it. It has many medicinal uses.
While we do control their presence in the vegetable garden, they are accepted residents in our lawn and naturalized areas. Here, our foster dog Lucy stepped into my photo of a brilliant bloom.

Achilles, stay. Or not.

Good boy, now I will get down on the ground.

Nono, stay.

OK, we will work on this another time.
