Rested.

This Great Blue Heron rested on a pile of reeds.

Visits.

A House Finch visits a sunflower feeder.

Although the weather is good, and Project FeederWatch starts about a month from now, I want to ensure that the songbirds know they can count on an at least a partial meal here.

A profusion of purple.

Late summer blooms.

Buffet.

House Sparrows feed at the sunflower seed buffet.

It is rough . . .

. . . being a dog in our home. Sometimes you have to sleep on the back of the couch.

Although I copyrighted this photo, Faye gets all the credit for taking it.

Saddle up!

Some years ago I took riding lessons and went on trail rides. Thinking I might want to take up riding again, I went on a trail ride this morning. It was a brisk morning and I was glad to have gloves. Major was a good horse to ride, soft mouth and easy gait.

Think I will most likely start taking lessons.
