The three cavaliers

Taken at Erieau beach during a warmer time, the dogs watch as I return from the car. Stella is zoomed, lasered, into watching me as is Kendal. Achilles surveys the beach. Such different dogs, such treasured companions.

. . . inadequately describes my expression when I see Achilles dozing.

It has been a lovely day. Sunny, temperature about 3 Celsius, light southwest wind. We spent time outside doing a little cleaning up. The dogs also came out for varying lengths of time. Piles of snow notwithstanding, Achilles dozed. I sneaked a photo.

Snowplow

Faye and I took the cattle dogs on the long walk today. Stella will often shove her nose into a snowbank. When we returned home I noticed that Stella had a snowball on her nose. She was completely unfazed by, seemimgly oblivious to, it. I did not, could not, stage this.

You woke me up because . . .?

Stella appears to be saying ‘You have a really good reason, right? Like taking a walk or to feed me?’

Nope. Only to take this picture, and to give you a scritch on the back of your neck.

She thought that was a good enough reason.

One of Stella’s favourite positions and places, curled up on the couch. She is a very good companion and very good dog.
