This flower greets me every morning at work. It inhabits a bed of wildflowers next to one entrance and I made an executive decision when the lawn care team arrived, instructing them to leave the bed untouched. (A co-worker uncharitably calls them weeds.)
These dwarf daffodils add bright and cheery colour to our yard.

Johnny Jump-ups show their cheery faces to the world.
Our hibiscus saw fit to bloom, adding lovely and colourful cheer to our living room.
It is a chilly, damp, breezy day – more mid-March than mid-May. These Johnny Jump-ups spread, without encouragement, into part of our yard. I photographed them a few days ago and today they gave me some cheer that spring is indeed here.
Back home, these dainty daffodils reflect the cheerfulness of a sunny day.
Indian blanket (Gaillairdia pulchella) is such a cheerful flower and always brings a smile.

I rarely fail to smile when looking at our gaillardia. Cheerful, bright bursts of sunshine at ground level. Sometimes I get down to their level to better appreciate their beauty.
