Toad.

This toad tolerated my getting up close to take its portrait.

This close.

Faye and I took a nature walk and were very surprised that this immature Turkey Vulture allowed us to get this close, within about 5 meters, before it flew away.

Terrain.

This is a close-up of the terrain on Lucy’s back and hip.

Wary

Mistaken

This close-up of small ferns growing out of a fallen log could easily be mistaken for a close-up of a conifers’ leaves.

Version 2

Grains

A sand traps’ sand grains made an interesting subject.
