Unsettled.

My areas’ weather has been unsettled since yesterday morning. Very heavy rain, some significant wind gusts, and almost constant lightning in storms. Some locations have recorded over 200mm (about 10″) of rain since yesterday morning. So much rain that farmers cannot get into their fields. More unsettled weather may be, likely is, on the way later this evening.

I saw this towering cloud this morning.

A hole in the clouds.

Last night, as a rain shower moved almost overhead, I happened to look in the right direction at the right time to see this, a hole in the low cloud cover revealing a sunlit cumulus way up high.

Blustery day.

A break.

A view of the sky during a break between today’s frequent snow showers.

Roiled the sky.

Yesterday’s approaching thunderstorm roiled the sky.

Fortunate.

Cumulus began towering nearby and eventually brought some rain to the folks fortunate enough to be in its path.

Billowed

A cold front blasted through this morning and clouds billowed downstream from where I was.

Towering

Yesterday was a good day to cloud-watch. It was hot, humid, and the atmosphere was a little unstable. Cumulus began towering which created some fascinating formations.

Raced

I raced a thunderstorm today, getting home mere minutes before it arrived with a brief downpour and small hail.
