Inexplicable

We came across an inexplicable sight today while driving a country road. These two things out in a pasture, some distance from the road and from any houses, appear to be old upright pianos. They were just too far away to make a positive ID. A mystery to ponder.

Guides

We visited the Oil Museum of Canada today. It was a very enjoyable, educational outing to a little-known gem a very short ride from home. Our guides on a carriage ride around the site were two locals and their magnificent Belgians.

Big sky

One thing I love about living in flat land country is how big the sky is. I have heard that Montana styles itself as big sky country. While Montana is undoubtedly a beautiful part of the world, I think that southwest Ontario is also big sky country.

Immensity revisited

In the flatlands, the sky stretches virtually if not completely from horizon to horizon. The immensity, the feeling, of it cannot be captured in one regular image.

Simple, Immense

Two hallmarks of of flatland scenery. The eye, mind, and spirit can feast on the simplicity and immensity of the landscape.

Contrast

This barn vividly leaps out from the bright green of field and bush, and the subdued blue-grey of the sky.
