A light morning fog blurs the finer details of the landscape.

As some recent thunderstorms collapsed they kicked up very gusty ground-level winds. I don’t recall ever seeing precious soil fly away as in this image.

I raced a thunderstorm home. Having got out ahead, I had a chance to stop, photograph, admire and respect power far beyond ours before continuing the race.

Forget-me-nots are among my favourite flowers. Last years’ havoc wrought to the flower bed along the shed foundation didn’t faze these survivors. Seeing this hardiness added to my fondness for these delicate yet hardy plants.
Taking my usual Wednesday break, back on Thursday.


Pork ribs slow cooked then finished on the grill. Accompaniments: sliced potatoes and onions grilled in a foil packet with a little butter and pepper; and cauliflower rolled in flour, egg washed, rolled in panko crumbs, then sauteed, served with feta, and mint fresh from the garden. Followed by greens fresh from the garden.
Enjoyed outside on a very pleasant evening.
