Marvellous.

Today’s sunrise was marvellous. I’m very blessed to be able to witness such beauty.

How it is.

July 2022. The haskap has grown considerably and shares space with asparagus, strawberries, and sunflowers. Partly or completely obscured by the haskap and asparagus are Chocolate Cherry tomatoes, garlic, beans, tomatillos, broccoli, Chicago figs in pots.

Up against the foundation are ferns, more sunflowers, columbines, Purple Coneflowers, and more stuff I do not remember right now.

Some might call this untidy. Weedy. Even messy.

I say, less lawn to mow. More diverse. More welcoming to birds as well as pollinators and insects.

Profusion.

A profusion of very cheery wildflowers.

Sunrise, May 05.

Although greeting every new day is a blessed event, this new day’s spectacle was truly remarkable and I’m thankful to have witnessed it.

A brilliant sunrise.

Tuckered out.

We spent much of a recent very pleasant spring day outside tending to things that needed tending to. Lucy and Fitzi did the same, and all the activity left Lucy quite tuckered out.

A tired dog is a good dog.

Ball girl.

Bright and cheery.

It feels like spring has been a long time coming. Seeing these bright and cheery crocuses blooming is a very good reminder that yes, spring is coming if not here.

It’s good.

It’s good to share couch time with a good dog.

Keeps a close watch.

On weekend mornings we begin the day by sitting in bed, drinking a French press of coffee, surfing or reading. Fitzi and Lucy are welcome to join us.

Lucy usually keeps a close watch out the window for squirrels that may be bold enough to (in her opinion) trespass.

And after all these years I still love her floppy ears.
