Magic carpet.

Last Christmas, Faye astonishingly and generously gifted me a flight on the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museums’ C-47 Dakota. My dad flew C-47s in World War II. The C-47 was a transport plane so my dad flew cargo and paratroop drop missions. He served in North Africa, Sicily, Italy, flew paratroopers for D-Day and flew more missions in Northwest Europe afterwards.

I recently took advantage of Fayes’ gift. Here’s a photo of the magic carpet I rode in; this specific plane did drop paratroops on D-Day. I’ll post more photos over the next few days.

Foggy sunrise.

Fog relented just enough this morning to capture this sunrise.

By paying attention.

By paying attention as well as not hurrying to my destination, I can – and do – stop to admire and capture a striking sunrise.

Fingernail moon.

Friday morning was clear, so it was a wonderful opportunity to admire the waning fingernail moon.

Is he not lovable?

Look at this face and convince yourself otherwise.

Lovely.

Thursday’s morning sky was lovely. While getting up at 0445 AM to do what I need to do, then get to work at a reasonable time is at times more than a little unpleasant, viewing such beauty is a reasonable trade-off.

Bright and cheerful.

Seeing this nasturtium flower made for a bright and cheerful start to my day.

Watches the world pass by.

Lucy watches the world pass by. We raise the window curtain so she can do this, which reduces the possibility the will become bored. A bored dog can be a mischievous dog.

Happy to share.

We are happy to share our yard with this little sprite, which finds plenty of shelter amongst the rubble left over from a concrete pad demolished before our deck was replaced.

Cruise away.

A family of Mute Swans cruise away from me.
