This frost on the car windshield compelled me to pause and appreciate.

Freezing rain on this window at work created a very artistic view.

Commonplace?

A most marvellous hoarfrost occurred overnight. Among many other acts of grace it performed, it turned the commonplace – in this case, a clothespin and clothesline – into beautiful works of art.

Sun-dogs

Hurrying to work one day, I looked over my shoulder at the sunrise. This scene called to me, I was compelled to stop and admire this awesomely, breathtakingly beautiful sight. Compelled to give thanks for this work of art that I was blessed to see and to share with you.

Change of plan

I went in search of Bald Eagles along the river. Alas, none to be seen. Rather than turn away in disappointment I found other sights to see, admire and photograph, such as this willow tree trunk.

Graced

A night of clear sky and no wind created perfect conditions for a morning frost. This teasel seed head was artfully graced with a light cloak of white.

Stalagmites?

At Point Pelee, a fierce west wind blew spray from Lake Erie onto these plants. Faye met them at their level.

Faye’s photos – Light and Dark

Faye was quite busy with the camera during our visit to far southwest Ontario, she has quite a good eye. During the next few days I will share several of her compositions.

Looking into the late afternoon sun at Point Pelee, light and dark dominate. Beauty is stark, austere.
