We made a day trip to Pinery Provincial Park on Boxing Day. The weather was blessedly quite benign for late December, so we strolled on the beach. An earlier visitor built this structure out of driftwood they obviously found.

Faye and I spent some time on the beach today. Not much time because we did not have sunblock. We expected the water to be chillier than it was.
It was good to get out like this, and good to see so many people out enjoying themselves.

An empty, solitary lifeguard station loses the battle against the waves. Soon it will be put into storage and the waves will wash unimpeded over the beach until next spring.
