Sings

My hiatus has ended!

Every day this week, this Song Sparrow has perched on a sunflower plant outside work, preens, and sings its lovely song. I invite you to visit AllAboutBirds to hear it.

Cheerful

This flower greets me every morning at work. It inhabits a bed of wildflowers next to one entrance and I made an executive decision when the lawn care team arrived, instructing them to leave the bed untouched. (A co-worker uncharitably calls them weeds.)

Bloom

It’s been a challenging spring for many of the living things in my part of the world. Much wetter than normal, cooler than normal. A lot of our plants have been slower to grow and to bloom than in past years. Climate change? Possibly. An anomalous spring, unusual but not unheard of? Possibly.

Whatever the reason, it only in late May that this iris in our back yard came into lovely bloom.

Reminder

Forget-me-nots. One of my favourite flowers; and a timely reminder of my connection(s) to people important to me.

Gold

This vista was worth more than all the gold I might care to own.

Version 2

Love; delicate

I love the delicate pastel colours of a lovely winter morning. Isn’t this marvellous?

. . . and moonset

I make a 180 degree pivot after taking the previous photo and see the moon setting, braced by tree limbs and hydro lines.

Taken together, a lovely way to start the day.

Graced . . .

A recent evening was graced by a lovely evening vista.

Lurks

Behind a lovely hibiscus bloom, a not so lovely gargoyle lurks.
