African violet flowers have an almost crystalline quality. This one occupies space on a shelf above the kitchen sink, where it gets morning sun and some humidity.
I was pleased and blessed to come across this slope covered with attractive flowers while I was out for a walk.. What they are I do not know. While humans may call these plants ‘weeds’ the many honeybees I saw were quite busy harvesting pollen.
I understand that the Mute Swan is an introduced species and can be aggressive about evicting native species. Granting that, they are lovely to watch in flight. This pair was exercising their wings and encouraging their four fledglings to do the same.
