Two weeks ago we erected this hoop house over the raised bed. Last night we had a wicked thunderstorm with about 15mm of rain, wind gusts to perhaps 70 kph, and about five minutes of pea sized hail. Achilles takes his ease
taken and posted with the PlayBook
Achilles often lays here, just outside the door. He can watch traffic on the street as well as keep an eye on a sliver of the backyard. He is remarkably trustworthy, rarely digs or barks without reason so he can spend as much time in the backyard unsupervised as he chooses. We are so blessed to have such a good dog.
Loopy

Country road, morning: light and dark

Possession

This Red-winged Blackbird turned this way and that on the barbed wire fence, loudly proclaiming that this part of the world was his, fiercely defended against all comers – except an attractive female.
Airbrushed

Cirrus clouds gently brushed across the sky.
Burst of energy

Wild creatures endured, survived, a long, snowy, arduous winter. It felt good to be able to help a few of them. Now that spring is here they are bursting with energy and activity. There are nests to build, breeding partners to find and mate with, eggs to lay, hatchlings to nurture. The nyger seed feeder is visited throughout the day as the Goldfinches fuel themselves for this time.
