Two of our bird feeders lined up well from where I sat and made for an interesting perspective.

I participate in Project FeederWatch. It’s a citizen science project which involves counting the birds at my bird feeders. During our recent extreme cold weather visitation dramatically increased. I photographed this Northern Cardinal through the living room window and screen so it’s a little fuzzy.
A Northern Cardinal and female House Finch share space at the dinner table.
I sometimes think of the White-breasted Nuthatch as the clown of the songbirds. It moves upside down. It wears a distinctive, funny suit. It has a funny little call, surveys the scene by turning its head every which way. Flits down to snatch a seed then quickly retreats to the safety of a nearby tree to open and devour its prize.

We set a table underneath the bird feeder, where it catches the seed spilling out of the feeder. This House Sparrow (link courtesy http://www.allaboutbirds.org) quickly took advantage of the bounty.

I *think* this is a first-year Orchard Oriole at our feeder. I’m unsure though. What do you think?
