Sandwiched

Between the monochrome of the harvested soybean field and the varied blue-greys of the clouds, beautifully bright fall colour.

The soft light and delicate colours of early morning called to me.

The tree in the centre has a quite different growth habit from its neighbours.

Gold

I was compelled to stop and take in the glory of a golden morning. What a blessing and a privilege to see such beauty.

Ablaze

One tree, gloriously ablaze in this bush across the harvested field, peeks through a small opening to let the world know that it bows to the inevitable, the turning of the seasons.

Barn, Lambton County

I pass this barn several times a week. It’s the same barn, in the same place, yet the light is different every day. It’s a work of art.

Old wood sided barns like this one are disappearing. They are ‘inefficient’, ‘expensive’ (now) to maintain, they are diversions to farmers looking to maximize yield and minimize hassle. I suspect that when this barn becomes too much trouble as it is, it will be knocked down. Sad.

Sunburst, Lambton County

The past few mornings have been calm, dewy, foggy, misty. Yesterday morning I stopped to drink in the quiet. This scene, looking back to the early sun, struck me. A burst of white light illuminates all. The trees and clouds add welcome softness and irregularity to the scene.

Suspended, Lambton County

Suspended between the deep sleep, the rest period of winter and the animation, the activity of spring, this field awaits the planter.
