Country lanes.

We walked country lanes several times during our time in England and Wales. While it’s difficult to tell, this lane outside Wooler led up a relatively steep slope, which we looked back down after gaining the top of the slope . . . then led us up another steep hill.

Another walk outside Wooler led us not only along laneways, it occasionally led through gates to paths through fields and pastures. We were glad that no path led us through the gate and into this field.

Fungus.

During a walk in a bush, a fallen fungus-laden tree trunk caught my eye.

Late afternoon stroll.

We took a stroll late this afternoon in Rondeau Provincial Park. A peaceful end to the day.

Wow.

We came across this dragonfly during a recent walk. I had never seen such a brilliantly red dragonfly.

This close.

Faye and I took a nature walk and were very surprised that this immature Turkey Vulture allowed us to get this close, within about 5 meters, before it flew away.

Lovely creature.

I came across this lovely creature while on a woodland walk.

Quite by chance

By chance

During our walk the other day Faye saw this unusual green and white trillium quite by chance. Had she not walked that way we would have missed this little beauty.
