Change of plan

I went in search of Bald Eagles along the river. Alas, none to be seen. Rather than turn away in disappointment I found other sights to see, admire and photograph, such as this willow tree trunk.

Taken with the PlayBook

We had quite a snowstorm Sunday night, about a foot fell. After shoveling a path to the street Faye and I did not retire to the couch, admiring the scene from afar and bemoaning the awfulness event. Instead, we got our snowshoes out. During our outing this scene greeted us. It looks sere, lifeless. It was full of activity, movement. The cedar trees sighing in the wind, the wind blowing over the snow, snow moving along the ground, crows flying and cawing. Faye and I in the scene, taking in the sights and sounds.

Full of life.

Greetings

A stand of teasel greets a glorious dawn. I’m very glad to have made time to stop, drink in this marvellous scene, and to share it with you.

Graced

A night of clear sky and no wind created perfect conditions for a morning frost. This teasel seed head was artfully graced with a light cloak of white.

Fence, field, and bush

A fence leads the eye straight back to a bush blurred by falling snow.

Bite

I stopped at a favourite spot to take a few photos, snapping away until the bitter cold bit my fingertips. I could return to my warm car. What I saw and what you see sleeps outdoors, awaiting spring.

Early Morning: Shed and Clouds

The early morning light rarely fails to grab me, pull me onto the shoulder to take a photo or three.
