Alert yet relaxed, Achilles takes his ease on a brisk fall afternoon.
Faye and I attended the Brigden Fall Fair today. We stopped for a time to watch the barrel racing competition.
I’ve been fascinated with barrel racing for years and this is the first time to see it live. It’s a sprint all the way but don’t knock a barrel over as you round it! This contestant rounds #3 at the end of the arena and heads for the line.
This fair is a long-time standard of fall events in southwest Ontario. It’s on Thanksgiving weekend. Faye and I went this year.
It was a lovely, crisp morning. We were there before most of the crowds turned up. I’. post a series of photos.
Quilts and quilting are a staple of fairs and we toured the barn hosting the quilts entered in the judging contest. This wall hanging caught my eye.
