Feast

Our vegetable garden blesses us with a feast for our eyes as well as our palate. This clump of Johnny jump-ups volunteered to fill some otherwise unused space.

Blessed

I have lost track of the exact date I adopted Achilles. It is enough to say that right about ten years ago today, I brought him home.

He helped me get through: letting go of beloved Corndog; keeping sensitive Stella busy and at work; my frequent travelling to see Faye; selling my house then moving to Canada; travelling on two long road trips. And a great deal more.

Chili dog has always been steady and reliable. Perhaps not always the best ambassador from his kind to his kind, yet always a most excellent ambassador from his kind to our kind.

I’ve been blessed to own Achilles.

Blessed

In May 2006 a friend tipped me off about a dog in a shelter. I adopted Achilles based on that tip and my evaluation, though logic and reason suggested otherwise. Sometimes you do something that makes no sense at that time.

For nearly ten years now Faye and I have shared life with this gentle, loving dog. Our lives have been immensely richer, immensely blessed.

Giving thanks

I give thanks for this lovely loaf of bread, which will sustain me.

In this season of giving thanks for our blessings, I thank each and every one of you for making a bit of time in your life to visit my blog, to like my photos. I deeply appreciate it. I wish you a very good holiday season and a very prosperous 2016.
