Incongruous

It was a little incongruous to see a combine working deep inside town limits.

Fallen

Leaves, fallen on the deck. The seasons turn, life changes, goes on. Fall is a good season, a transition between the season of growth and that of rest.

All done.

After 47 consecutive days of almost exclusively 10 hour shifts, Faye is done with this years’ tomato harvest. A long, grueling haul.

I took a break from most computing yesterday. It was a marvellous day, crisp, cool, sunny. We ran errands, walked the dogs (taking Achilles on a long walk), puttered in the garden, revelled in having more than an hour or two together.

Life is good.

Turning

Another sign that the season is turning, the first significant snow. It’s beautiful to see, though the cold – minus 14 wind chill – is unseasonable and biting. It’s good to experience such cold. Makes me feel more alive and much more grateful to have a snug home.

Combine in Fog

Details softened, this combine awaits its next assignment.

Stopped

This neighbour’s tree, though not the biggest kid on the block compared to the surrounding specimens, certainly has impressive foliage.

Burst

As our warm days slip away, replaced by more seasonal single digit (Celsius) temperatures, this bush provides one more burst of glory before the leaves fall.

What a wonderful time of year.
