We spent time shelling beans on a delightful November afternoon. Not much yield by volume – perhaps two cups – and certainly not enough to be self sufficient. Yet, we grew them.

Busily.
A honeybee busily works a Purple Coneflower bloom in the front yard.
Await.
Our started vegetable plants await planting. Low temperatures during several upcoming nights come uncomfortably close to freezing so we are holding off. For now, we bring them out during the day to harden them off.
The rosemary (upper centre) will stay in its pot as will the lemongrass (upper right).
A little hard to see.
It is a little hard to see the seven asparagus spears in our small ‘spare grass’ patch. We have already enjoyed several fresh spears. The strawberries are starting to flower (though you cannot see the flowers in this image). The haskap bush in the background has flowered and should set fruit soon.
Bounty.
Twenty minutes’ time yielded this bounty from the Chocolate Cherry Tomato patch.
Cheery.
The sunflower adds a very cheery note to our vegetable garden.
In bloom.
Many of the plants in our garden are in bloom now. Here, the spirea.
Almost
This strawberry was almost ready to pick.
Changed; prolific
WordPress have changed the site editing platform. I hope you will bear with me while I figure it out.
Based on what I see I believe our redcurrant bush will be very prolific this year.
What a treat!
Dinner: Fresh greens from our garden accompany a piece of savoury bread pudding. What a treat to have on December 10!
