Glows
Between dark clouds and dark ground, the early morning sky almost glows.
Busy time
It’s a busy time. Faye works ten hours daily during the tomato processing season and is in week 3. We see each other for about 90 minutes a day during the week, not much more during the weekends. My time is full with chores, walking dogs, running errands, and work.
I’m not complaining. This is life and complaining will not change that fact. I prefer to accept what is (not that I have to like what is), knowing that it will get better soon. I’ll be able to spend more time with and more deeply appreciate my life and my best friend, companion, partner, wife.
Welcoming committee
Achilles and Stella greeted me at the gate yesterday. Achilles has greeted me nearly every day for over nine years, Stella for over twelve. I am so blessed to have shared life with them.
I have heard that you get the dog you need, whether you are conscious of it or not. I needed Stella’s drive, energy, need for leadership and for a job. I needed Achilles’s gentleness, sweetness, and eagerness to please. All these years along, I still need them. How lucky to have found and to still have them!
Conjunction
The waning crescent Moon and Venus were close partners yesterday morning, leading the way for the Sun. I was compelled to stop, photograph, admire, and give thanks. It’s good to stop, look, appreciate our surroundings give thanks for our many blessings.
Gently
High clouds, gently brushed across blue canvas. A tree leaf sneaks into the frame.
Vertical
Looking straight up from my customary seat on the deck. Some sky, some tree, all beautiful and appreciated.
Bounty
A recent harvest. Ham hocks and beef brisket home smoked; grilled jalapeno popper; and a poblano, jalapeno, tomatillo, and tomato from the garden. Simple yet wholesome fare.
Furscape
Tonight instead of a landscape, seascape, skyscape, I give you a view of Stella’s fur.
Appearance
The moon briefly appears through very dense early morning fog.
