The soft light and delicate colours of early morning called to me.

Human-scaled structures are dwarfed by the immensity of the land and sky.

Rain threatened the other night, we could hear an occasional grumble of thunder. Clouds completely filled the sky – or so I thought. When I craned my neck and looked directly overhead, there was this hole, which closed within a moment or two.
Postscript: The threat turned out to be empty.

We had a day-long rain with a chill east wind, 23 mm of rain fell. A warm front has swept through, scrubbing out the rain (for now). We had a front row seat as a thunderstorm developed then moved off to our east. This is the trailing end of the storm, still building. Air is really a fluid, clouds accentuate that and are dynamic, compelling sculpture.
