Early morning

The soft light and delicate colours of early morning called to me.

Evening sky, 2

Contrails pull their zippers across the fabric of the evening skyscape.

Evening sky

I rarely post photos of evening images. Tonight I thought to take the PlayBook when I walked the dogs. This peaceful image was one of several that I gathered.

Early evening sky

An artist at work, in the sky airbrushing clouds and just above the ground at maple tree sapling height.

Soft

The soft curves of trees, clouds, and the almost imperceptible curvature of the land are restful to the eye.

Entangled

On a recent evening, the moon had to disentangle itself from a maple tree. Beautiful.

Dawn, glorious dawn

Amazing. It’s good to be alive.

Immensity

Immensity

Human-scaled structures are dwarfed by the immensity of the land and sky.

Hole in the clouds

Hole in the clouds

Rain threatened the other night, we could hear an occasional grumble of thunder. Clouds completely filled the sky – or so I thought. When I craned my neck and looked directly overhead, there was this hole, which closed within a moment or two.

Postscript: The threat turned out to be empty.

Convection

Taken with and posted on.the PlayBook

We had a day-long rain with a chill east wind, 23 mm of rain fell. A warm front has swept through, scrubbing out the rain (for now). We had a front row seat as a thunderstorm developed then moved off to our east. This is the trailing end of the storm, still building. Air is really a fluid, clouds accentuate that and are dynamic, compelling sculpture.
