Threatened

The sky threatened to spew snow during most of today day, carrying out its threat only a few times.

There will be many more opportunities during the next few months.

Coming

Winter is coming, we can’t wish it away, may want it to never come but come it will. I’m looking forward to the season of rest, renewal, pondering the lessons of 2016 and how to apply those lessons to the next seasons of gtowth.

See you Thursday.

Smile

I reviewed some old photos today, one of the hottest days of the year. It was refreshing to see this photo, and to smile at recalling watching fuzzbutt Stella go deep into a snowbank.

Caught

The heavy, wet, ‘sticky’ snow also was caught in the gate.

A wet, ‘sticky’ snowfall was caught and held by all it contacted. Our redbud tree became a work of art.

Reminder

Our winter has been remarkably mild and snow-free. Snow fell much of today, an important, useful, necessary reminder that it is February 9.

Textures

A light snowfall crept through unnoticed during the night. The only evidence of its passing was tubes, crystals, and a diaphanous layer of flakes on the deck railing.

A lovely afternoon

A little over 8 centimeters of snow fell yesterday; some in the morning and the rest during the evening. Today has been a very lovely day with fresh snow, a brisk breeze, and a lot of sun which raised the temperature to about -1C. So we posed for a self-portrait with our hoop tunnel, inside which are the last of our garden greens.

Return

Winter recently (and briefly!) returned, testing our resilience by throwing a few centimeters of snow at us. It created this beautiful scene.
