Prince and the pea

Achilles loves peas. Every time we enter the vegetable garden he’s just outside the fence, alertly and intently watching our every move. Although he takes them with a bit of a grab it’s a gentle grab, never making contact with the digits proffering the tasty treat.

No wisdom yet but a great blessing

I’m extraordinarily blessed to have very little discomfort never mind pain after yesterday’s wisdom tooth extraction. With Fayes’ help I iced my jaw for most of yesterday to minimize the swelling. I was given a scrip for Ketorolac to relieve pain and have felt the need to take only two. Yesterday I ate a lot of cheese, a banana, some hummus, a mug of soup. Today I’ve had a banana, some hummus, and a Wendy’s Junior Cheesy Cheddarburger (can’t get much softer than that!). Doing a saltwater rinse every four hours.

I’m very, very blessed to have had this go so well, so far.

Loss of wisdom . . .

. . . as in loss of a tooth. After many year of gentle nagging by two dentists I had my lower left wisdom tooth removed about 3 hours ago. Now I’m sitting on the couch at home, feeling the novocain and general anasthesia (I was a weenie and asked to be hit on the head with a hammer, thank you) gradually wear off. It will be soft foods (and dammit the local farm just started selling their amazing sweet corn), ice, and pain management meds for a day or two. I might put up a loopy post or two while under the influence.

A real standout

As the light faded on a summer evening, these geranium blooms almost glowed against the background of our fence and vegetable garden.
